Suxin founder selected for national high-level returning-talent funding

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security recently published the 2023 list of personnel and projects under its funding program for high-level overseas-educated talent returning to China. Suxin IoT Technology (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. was selected, receiving a one-time grant from the ministry — that year, only 2 overseas-student startups in Nanjing were selected. This distinction is led by founder and CEO Dr. Bo Li.

Dr. Bo Li earned his PhD from Washington University in St. Louis and is a young scholar in the fields of the Internet of Things and cyber-physical systems (CPS), whose papers have been cited more than 1000 times by international peers. He had previously received the 2019 “High-Level Entrepreneurial Talent Introduction Program” of Nanjing City and Xuanwu District, and the 2020 first prize (enterprise innovation category) of the Jiangsu “Innovation & Entrepreneurship Talent” program.

Under his leadership, Suxin — a company focused on the “smart welding” vertical — is a national high-tech enterprise and a Jiangsu “little giant” specialized SME, and reached the national top 100 in the 4th China Industrial Internet Competition. The team, bringing together experts from mainland China, the United States, the Netherlands and Hong Kong, has developed a “lean welding brain” that fuses AI, the Internet of Things and welding process, deployed at scale on leading lines such as Sany, BMW, Honda and Shantui; it holds 70+ invention patents in total.

The national funding for high-level returning talent is aimed at those who “bring what they learned overseas back home and truly create industrial value.” This recognition is less an honor for an individual than an endorsement of a path — returning to China to start a business on core technology and take smart welding all the way to the production line. Talent and technology are the two cornerstones of Suxin’s growth.
